Temporarily, the mind might seem louder – busier than normal. Regardless, we must keep on with our practice. This is only a temporary state that will eventually pass. It is a result of spiritual energy coming down into our energy body during our meditation and flushing out negative thoughts forms, emotions and other dirty energy.
It’s best to schedule your meditation everyday at the same time and the same place. This will form a good habit and help to anchor spiritual energy in the spot that you meditate. This has tremendous benefits for your spiritual practice.
Sandalwood oil has been used since ancient times to help calm a busy mind. From a Pranic Healing perspective, Sandalwood is very cleansing. It breaks up negative thoughts and allows us to access a higher state of consciousness. One of the ways we can achieve this is by putting a small dab of Sandalwood oil on the forehead and in between the eyes, thereby oxygenating the pineal gland. In the class Achieving Oneness with the Higher Soul, we learn how the pineal gland is a gateway to higher states of consciousness.
For those of you who are interested in Ayurveda, we know Pitta is on the rise in the summer months. I notice here in LA, as soon as the days grow hotter – the mind becomes busier. When Pitta is in need of balancing, we may experience frustration, irritation, anger, and could have a hard time focusing and sitting still for our practice. Sandalwood is cooling and will help balance Pitta during the summer months.
Blessings to you and your practice!
