For those of you who are living in the North, or in the Pacific Northwest there’s a chance you may have experienced SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder. It usually starts to sneak in mid-autumn, or when the sun grows weak. Depending on where you live, this can have an effect on the mind and body from minor to severe degrees.
From a Pranic Healing perspective, when the Sun is weak during the darker months there is less solar prana in the air. This can cause our system to experience SAD, feel fatigued, run down and have physical and/or psychological depression. Prana is life force, it keeps us alive, healthy and strong.
Our Navel Chakra is in charge of keeping our physical body strong and energized. It’s an excellent spot to store extra prana. By storing prana in this chakra the whole system strengthens and becomes vital.
This technique is best done after our meditation practice. This is a time when we have an excess amount of prana (energy) within our aura. Start by placing your awareness on the navel area. Begin nice deep breathing from the belly, leaving your awareness on the navel as you inhale and exhale. Continue to do this for several minutes or more. If the system is very depleted, do this exercise everyday until the condition normalizes.
For those who do not have a meditation practice you can do this technique as well.
Furthermore making sure one is exercising enough, getting proper rest, drinking clean water and eating lots of food with prana in it (fresh fruit/vegetables/sprouts etc) is very important as well.
